  16. Beach, Florida. Before World War II, he and his three brothers
  17. created a successful publishing firm by anticipating the
  18. widespread popularity of inexpensive crime-magazine
  19. serializations, pulp novels and detective mysteries. After the
  20. war, Fawcett continued its growth as one of the nation's biggest
  21. paperback publishers.
